1. Introduction

Wealth Building Academy LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates LayoffNext. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect information when you use the website and platform at LayoffNext.com.

2. Information We Collect

A. Employer account / company information

Name, email, phone, company name, role, company size, HR contacts, benefits contacts, company settings, branding, and transition event information.

B. Employee portal information

Invite email, portal activation, assignment status, resource engagement metadata, and checklist progress.

C. Private employee inputs

Resume text, personal notes, calculator inputs, and planning answers — if and when future features store them. LayoffNext is designed so private employee inputs are not visible to employers.

D. Payment information

Payment status, plan, amount, and Stripe customer/session/payment identifiers. We do not store full payment card numbers.

E. Contact / demo information

Contact form submissions, Calendly scheduling details, emails, phone, and messages.

F. Marketing information

Newsletter and demo lead information processed through Brevo or similar tools.

G. Technical / usage information

IP address, browser, device, pages visited, logs, cookies, and analytics data.

4. Employer Visibility and Employee Privacy

Employers can see:

  • Employee assignment status

  • Impact report metrics
  • Activity timestamps related to resources opened

Employers cannot see:

  • Resume text
  • Resume review content
  • Financial calculator inputs
  • Private financial outputs
  • Personal notes
  • Private planning answers
  • Job search details
  • Private employee messages
  • Sensitive personal employee data unless voluntarily shared outside the platform

5. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers and parties including:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Supabase — database and authentication
  • Brevo — email and marketing
  • Calendly — scheduling
  • Vercel and hosting providers
  • Analytics providers
  • Legal, accounting, and professional advisors
  • Authorities, when required by law
  • A successor entity in the event of a business transfer, merger, or sale

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, performance, preferences, analytics, and marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.

7. Data Retention

We retain information according to the following general rules:

  1. Employer account and company data: retained while the employer account is active and for up to 7 years after account closure, unless a shorter or longer period is required by law, contractual obligation, dispute resolution, tax/accounting, fraud prevention, security, or legitimate business purposes.
  2. Payment and transaction records: retained for up to 7 years for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargeback, audit, and legal purposes.
  3. Contact form and demo inquiry data: retained for up to 3 years after the last interaction, unless the person requests deletion or a longer retention period is needed for legal, security, dispute, or business purposes.
  4. Marketing email data: retained until the user unsubscribes or requests deletion, subject to suppression-list and legal compliance requirements.
  5. Employer dashboard event data: retained while the employer account is active and for up to 7 years after the relevant transition event or account closure, unless deleted earlier by the company or required longer for legal/accounting/security purposes.
  6. Employee portal activity metadata:retained for up to 3 years after the transition event ends, unless the employer’s plan or legal/business requirements require a different period.
  7. Private employee inputs: resume text, private notes, financial calculator inputs, and private planning answers are either not stored by default or, if stored later as part of a future feature, retained only as long as needed to provide the service and deleted within 12 months after the transition event ends, unless the employee deletes earlier or a longer period is legally required. LayoffNext is designed so private employee inputs are not visible to employers.
  8. System logs, security logs, and payment debugging logs: retained for up to 24 months, unless needed longer for security, fraud prevention, debugging, legal claims, or audit purposes.
  9. Deleted accounts: deletion requests are processed within a reasonable timeframe, but some information may remain in backups, logs, transaction records, or legal/accounting records for limited periods.
  10. Backups: backup copies may persist for a limited period before deletion according to standard backup cycles.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts and credentials.

9. International Users

LayoffNext may support United States, India, Canada, United Kingdom, and other country resource packs. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our vendors operate. Country-specific rights may apply depending on your location.

10. Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request:

  • Access to your information
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of your information
  • Opt-out of marketing communications
  • Restriction or objection to certain processing, where applicable
  • Data portability, where applicable

11. Marketing Communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in those emails or by contacting us. We may still send service-related emails necessary to operate the Platform.

LayoffNext is not intended for children under 13, or under the applicable minimum age threshold in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

13. Do Not Sell / Sensitive Data

LayoffNext does not sell personal information in the traditional sense. If advertising or analytics cookies are used, you may have opt-out rights depending on your jurisdiction. We aim to avoid collecting sensitive data unless necessary to provide a requested feature.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date.
